Industrial Honeycomb Coal & Charcoal Briquette Production Line

In the global industrial fuel and biomass waste-to-value sectors, the structural density and airflow geometry of briquettes directly dictate their combustion efficiency.

Guoxin Machinery designs and manufactures fully automated, heavy-duty Honeycomb Coal & Charcoal Briquette Production Lines.

By seamlessly integrating four critical industrial processing stages—material pulverizing, homogeneous binder mixing, high-pressure mechanical punching, and continuous thermal drying—our complete plant solutions transform loose coal fines, industrial coal slime, and carbonized biomass charcoal powder into high-strength, uniform multi-hole briquettes (internationally recognized as honeycomb briquettes).

1. The 4-Stage Complete Plant Workflow & System Synergy

Operating a profitable, 24/7 continuous briquetting plant requires an integrated ecosystem where every machine is balanced to prevent bottlenecks:

[Raw Coal Fines / Charcoal Powder] ➔

[Step 1: Precision Pulverizer] ➔

[Step 2: Twin-Shaft Binder Mixer] ➔

[Step 3: Honeycomb Punch Press] ➔

[Step 4: Continuous Multi-Layer Mesh Belt Drying/Rotary Drum Dryer] ➔

[High-Density Finished Fuel Blocks]

To guarantee a smooth surface finish and flawless internal structural walls, the feedstock must be pre-conditioned. Our high-speed hammer mills refine raw coal deposits, mineral slime, or carbonized wood/coconut shell fines down to ≤ 3mm, preparing the optimal grain distribution for dense compaction.

The structural stability of a multi-hole block depends entirely on binder distribution. Our heavy-duty dual-shaft mixers aggressively blend the mineral or biomass fines with liquid binders and combustion catalysts. This stage ensures absolute moisture consistency, preventing internal micro-fractures during the high-pressure stamping phase.

This is the mechanical heart of the production line. Utilizing a heavy-duty crankshaft punch press, the conditioned matrix is instantaneously compacted within specialized mold sleeves via massive vertical impact force. Precision CNC-machined pins simultaneously pierce the material to form the vertical airflow channels, achieving a uniform density of ≥ 1.3 g/cm³.

Freshly formed “green” honeycomb blocks are automatically transferred onto a multi-layer mesh belt drying system. Operating within a precise temperature-controlled loop (60°C – 80°C), the dryer extracts internal moisture down to ≤ 5% without causing thermal cracking or compromising the multi-hole geometry, delivering product immediately ready for retail packaging or industrial deployment.

3. Strategic Advantages of Guoxin Integrated Plant Engineering

  • Elimination of “Density Fluctuation”: Traditional standalone screw extruders suffer from inconsistent product lengths and structural warping. Our mechanical linkage systems ensure that every single punch cycle delivers identical compression tonnage, guaranteeing 100% uniformity across millions of blocks.
  • Industrial Wear Mitigation: Coal and charcoal dust are highly abrasive to steel tooling. All primary punching pins and die plates in our lines are forged from High-Manganese Alloy Steel (Mn13) subjected to vacuum hardening, yielding an operational lifespan of 2,000 to 3,000 tons per set.
  • Eco-Friendly Closed Loop: The processing line can be equipped with integrated dust extraction hoods at the crushing and mixing stations, maintaining a clean workplace that complies with international environmental mandates.

4.  FAQ

Q1: Why must a multi-hole honeycomb structure use a mechanical punch press rather than an extrusion press?

A: Extrusion machinery relies on continuous friction, which can overheat binders and fails to form clean, structural vertical holes in large diameters. Mechanical punching provides an instantaneous, massive vertical force that compresses the entire block uniformly. This maintains the “natural chimney effect” during combustion, ensuring the core of the honeycomb coal or charcoal burns completely with zero unburnt waste residuals.

Q2: Can the same production line switch between making coal honeycomb blocks and biomass charcoal blocks?

A: Yes. The structural machinery components—crusher, mixer, conveyor, and dryer—are fully compatible. However, because coal fines have a higher specific gravity and different plasticity requirements compared to lightweight charcoal powder, our engineering team will provide interchangeable mold dies with calibrated compression strokes and distinct binder formulation ratios for each material.

Q3: What are the installation requirements regarding civil engineering and foundations for the plant?

A: Because the primary punch press generates massive dynamic impact loads during operation, it cannot be placed on standard commercial factory flooring. We provide complete, detailed CAD foundation drawings prior to equipment arrival. The forming station requires a dedicated, reinforced concrete foundation pit (typically 300mm to 500mm deep with integrated vibration-damping rebar) to secure long-term mechanical alignment.
