In the production of high-end shisha and catering charcoal, the forming stage defines the final product’s burn time and market value. Our Charcoal Tablet Press Machine is designed to convert carbonized fruit wood powder into high-density tablets and cubes. Precision Forming Technology: Mechanical vs. Hydraulic

Depending on your production volume and the abrasive nature of your feedstock (such as apple, cherry, or grape wood charcoal), we offer two primary pressing technologies:

  • Mechanical Punching Press: Optimized for high-speed production of round shisha tablets. It utilizes a crankshaft linkage mechanism to deliver consistent, rapid strikes.

  • Hydraulic Tablet Press: Best suited for square cubes or complex shapes where uniform internal density and adjustable pressure are critical to preventing structural cracks during combustion.


 

Integrated Production Context

A high-performance tablet press is the “forming heart” of a facility, but its output quality is dependent on the preceding and following stages:

  • Upstream Conditioning: Raw fruit wood must be processed through a Continuous Carbonization Retort to ensure fixed carbon levels exceed 85%. The resulting charcoal is then refined and homogenized in a double-shaft mixer with food-grade binders.

  • Downstream Stability: Freshly pressed tablets are highly sensitive to moisture. Immediate transit through a Temperature-Controlled Dryer is essential to reach a moisture content of $\le$5%, ensuring the tablets do not crumble during maritime transport.

  • Mold Customization: Interchangeable die sets allow for the production of 33mm/35mm round tablets, 25mm/26mm cubes, or customized embossed logos for brand identification.

  • Wear Resistance: All punching pins and mold cavities are manufactured from high-manganese alloy steel, treated to withstand the high friction of charcoal powder processing.

  • Automated Discharge: Synchronized with the press cycle, the automated discharge system prevents physical damage to the “green” (undried) tablets, ensuring a 99% qualification rate.

Q1: How do you achieve the “Metallic Clink” sound in shisha charcoal?

A: That sound is a direct result of high density and low moisture. Our press provides the necessary tonnage to compact the powder until the internal air pockets are eliminated. When followed by correct drying, the resulting tablet becomes “stony” in hardness.

Q2: What is the maintenance interval for the mold sets?

A: Fruit wood charcoal is moderately abrasive. With standard operation, our alloy molds typically require inspection and potential surfacing after 800—1,200 tons of production, depending on the binder ratio used.
