In the global shisha and premium BBQ markets, the quality of coconut shell charcoal is judged by its density, burn time, and physical strength. Our Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Machine is the critical forming unit designed to transform carbonized coconut shell powder into high-value briquettes. By applying precision-controlled mechanical or hydraulic pressure, the machine achieves a product density of 1.3g/cm³, ensuring the charcoal remains intact during both combustion and long-distance maritime transport.


 

Forming Technology for Shisha & BBQ Applications

Coconut shell charcoal powder requires specific compression ratios to achieve the “metallic clink” sound indicative of high quality. Our machinery offers two primary forming methods:

  • Precision Tablet Pressing: Optimized for the shisha market, producing 25mm/26mm cubes or 33mm/35mm round tablets. This method ensures sharp edges and a smooth surface finish.

  • High-Pressure Extrusion: Ideal for hexagonal or cylindrical BBQ charcoal logs. The high-torque screw compression facilitates a “natural chimney” airflow design, extending burn time to over 5 hours.


 

Full-Cycle Production Integration

To produce export-grade coconut charcoal, the briquette machine must operate as part of a synchronized industrial line:

  • Upstream Processing: Raw shells are first processed in a Continuous Coconut Shell Carbonization Furnace to reach fixed carbon levels of 80%–88%. The resulting charcoal is refined to a fine powder (<1mm) and blended with organic binders in our double-shaft mixers.

  • Downstream Treatment: Freshly pressed briquettes are highly sensitive to moisture. They are immediately transitioned to a Multi-Layer Mesh Belt Drying System to reach a final moisture content of ≤5 %, preventing cracks and structural failure.


 

Engineering Specifications

  • Wear-Resistant Molds: All mold cavities and punching pins are crafted from high-manganese alloy steel, specifically treated to handle the friction of coconut shell particles.

  • Density Consistency: Integrated pressure sensors and mechanical linkage systems ensure that every batch of briquettes maintains uniform weight and density.

  • Custom Branding: Molds can be customized to emboss brand logos directly onto the charcoal tablets or cubes.

Q1: What prevents the coconut charcoal briquettes from “sparking” or “cracking”?

A: Sparking is often a result of raw material impurities, but cracking during use is usually caused by low forming pressure or incorrect binder ratios. Our machines provide the necessary tonnage to ensure a homogeneous internal structure that resists thermal expansion.

Q2: How often do the pressing molds need to be replaced?

A: While coconut shell is less abrasive than palm shell, it still causes wear over time. Our alloy molds are designed for high-volume output and typically require surfacing or replacement after 1,200–1,800 tons of production, depending on the feedstock fineness.

Q3: Can the machine produce both cubes and hexagonal logs?

A: Yes, but it requires different machine configurations. The tablet press is specialized for cubes and round shisha charcoal, while the screw extruder is engineered for the larger diameters required for BBQ logs.
