Project Background & Material Challenge

Lyuliang, Shanxi, is a prominent global hub for heavy industry, mineral processing, and coking operations. A major environmental challenge for local industrial operators is the accumulation of high-moisture industrial wastewater sludge, coal slime, and carbonaceous mineral fines.

In their raw state, these cohesive, viscous mud-like residuals have poor handling properties, restrict airflow in thermal systems, and cannot be easily transported or utilized.

The Solution: Guoxin Machinery successfully engineered and delivered a turnkey, automated High-Pressure Roller Press Briquetting Production Line to structurally densify this wet waste matrix into uniform, high-strength metallurgical or fuel briquettes.

The commissioned plant utilizes a seamless, heavy-duty mechanical sequence designed to manage sticky, high-abrasion raw inputs:

1. Bulk Storage & Raw Material Handling

The raw feedstock consists of large volumes of cohesive, dark industrial mineral sludge held in an enclosed storage facility. The material possesses high structural moisture and fine particulate distribution, requiring heavy machinery (excavator) to continuously feed the primary processing hoppers.

2. Automated Proportioning & Intensive Mixing

To overcome the hydrophobic nature of the carbon fines and stabilize the viscous sludge, the material is metered onto a heavy-duty conveyor system where a precise ratio of structural binders/additives is introduced. The composite stream is then discharged directly into a high-torque, twin-shaft intensive mixer. This phase ensures absolute homogeneity and conditions the moisture profile for optimal hydraulic compression.

3. High-Pressure Hydraulic Compaction

The conditioned mixture is transported via an inclined belt conveyor into the feed hopper of the Guoxin High-Pressure Roller Briquetting Press.

  • Mechanism: Dual counter-rotating alloy rollers exert intense linear pressure to mechanically force the paste into matching pillow-shaped pockets.
  • Durability: The roller liners are fabricated from specialized wear-resistant tool steel to withstand the severe frictional abrasion inherent to mineral and carbon fines.

4. Finished Product Output & Material Characteristics

The machine continuously discharges uniform, high-density egg/pillow-shaped briquettes. The finished briquettes exhibit excellent initial cold crushing strength (CCS) and smooth surface integrity, making them highly resistant to drop shattering during downstream logistics, outdoor stockpiling, or high-temperature charging into industrial furnaces.
