  • Target Output: High-density, High-strength Industrial Graphite Briquettes

1. Project Background & Technical Challenge

Graphite powder is widely utilized in metallurgy, refractories, battery anode manufacturing, and conductive materials. However, raw graphite fine powder poses distinct industrial challenges during bulk transport and furnace feeding:

  • Extreme Natural Lubricity: The microstructure of graphite makes cold compaction difficult without specialized hydraulic linear pressure.

  • Low Bulk Density & High Dust: Loose graphite powder creates heavy workshop dust pollution and causes substantial material loss during handling.

  • High Density Requirement: Metallurgical and chemical clients require graphite briquettes with high drop strength and minimal abrasion rates.

To resolve these issues, our Lianyungang client partnered with Guoxin Group to install a heavy-duty 850 Hydraulic Roller Press Briquetting Line tailored specifically for fine graphite powder compaction.

2. Integrated 5-Stage Production Workflow

The Lianyungang installation features a fully closed-loop, automated workflow engineered to maintain continuous 24/7 output with minimal manual labor:

[Raw Graphite Powder Hopper] ➔
[Wheel Loader Batching] ➔
[Dual-Shaft Mixer & Binder Addition] ➔
[GX-850 Hydraulic High-Pressure Pressing] ➔
[Continuous Mesh Belt Drying] ➔ [High-Strength Graphite Briquettes]

Stage 1: Raw Material Handling & Automated Feeding

A industrial wheel loader transfers bulk graphite powder into the raw material hopper. An enclosed inclined belt conveyor regulates material delivery to prevent dust dispersion inside the facility.

Stage 2: Precision Binder Mixing & Conditioning

The graphite fines pass through a heavy-duty mixer where precise percentages of liquid binding agents are thoroughly blended to overcome graphite’s natural lubricity and ensure particle bonding.

Stage 3: High-Pressure Compaction via GX-850 Roller Press

The conditioned mixture enters the forced-feeding hopper of the Guoxin GX-850 Hydraulic Roller Press. Driven by heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders applying high linear pressure, the counter-rotating 9Cr2Mo forged alloy rollers stamp the graphite powder into solid, high-density oval briquettes.

Stage 4: Rapid Discharge & Strength Verification

Freshly pressed green briquettes discharge continuously onto a high-speed buffer belt. On-site testing demonstrated immediate structural integrity with clean mold release and zero stickiness.

Stage 5: Continuous Multi-Tier Mesh Belt Drying

The green briquettes pass directly into a continuous multi-layer mesh belt drying tunnel. Thermal air circulation systematically reduces moisture content to ≤ 3%, permanently locking in mechanical strength for heavy storage and shipping.

4. Key Performance Highlights Confirmed On-Site

  1. Superior Hydraulic Compaction: The GX-850 hydraulic system supplies consistent linear pressure, successfully overcoming graphite’s natural slippage to achieve high structural density.

  2. Heavy-Duty Wear-Resistant Rollers: Built with forged 9Cr2Mo alloy roller sleeves, the machine resists abrasive wear from fine powders, extending sleeve operational life significantly.

  3. Dust-Controlled Clean Operation: Enclosed conveyors and smooth transfer chutes drastically reduce airborne graphite dust in the workshop environment.

  4. Turnkey Reliability: From loading to automated drying, the entire line operates seamlessly with minimal operator oversight.
