Trial Date: October 15, 2026 Testing
Location: Guoxin Heavy Machinery Assembly Workshop
Equipment Tested: Continuous Rotary Coconut Shell Carbonization System
Raw Material: Crushed Coconut Shell Fragments
On October 15, 2026, our engineering team conducted a live workshop trial on the Continuous Coconut Shell Carbonization Furnace. The main objective was to evaluate continuous feeding stability, thermal pyrolysis efficiency, syngas self-recycling performance, and the final structural quality of the coconut shell biochar.
Coconut shells are a premium feedstock for high-grade activated carbon and barbecue charcoal, but processing them efficiently requires strict temperature control and oxygen-free sealing. This trial verifies the system’s capacity for industrial-scale, continuous 24/7 output.
Crushed coconut shell fragments were loaded into the bulk bag hopper and continuously transported via an inclined belt conveyor into the sealed rotary reactor inlet, preventing oxygen ingress and maintaining a stable internal atmosphere.
Inside the insulated horizontal rotary drum, the coconut shells underwent high-temperature thermal decomposition. The volatile syngas generated during pyrolysis was captured, purified, and redirected to external dual-burner nozzles. The stable, bright flame confirmed that the system runs on self-generated energy, eliminating auxiliary fuel costs during continuous running.
The carbonized material passed through a multi-stage water-cooled screw conveyor, rapidly dropping the biochar temperature to safe levels before dropping onto the collection floor.
Trial Results and Performance Highlights
Complete Carbonization: The discharged coconut shell charcoal pieces maintained uniform black coloration, clear natural fragment shape, and zero unburnt cores.
Energy Self-Sufficiency: Recycled syngas successfully fueled the thermal loop, minimizing external energy consumption.
Clean Production: Multi-stage gas sealing maintained a smoke-free, eco-friendly workshop environment.
Question: What makes continuous carbonization better for coconut shells than traditional kilns?
Answer: Continuous rotary carbonization furnaces eliminate the long heating and cooling cycles of traditional batch kilns. They process high tonnages per day and recycle self-generated syngas to drastically reduce operational costs.
Question: What is the quality of the coconut shell charcoal produced?
Answer: The output features high fixed carbon content and mechanical strength, making it ideal for direct sale, BBQ use, or further activation into high-value activated carbon.
