Introduction: Elevating Charcoal Quality for the Premium Export Market

The buyers demand flawless geometric consistency, high burning duration, and extreme structural durability. Traditional screw extrusion often creates internal cracks due to uneven heat stress.

To prove the superiority of hydraulic compaction, Henan Guoxin Machinery welcomed a client to our Zhengzhou workshop on July 10, 2026, for a live-action test run using a premium blend of Moso bamboo charcoal and lychee wood charcoal. The objective was to produce dense, market-ready hexagonal hollow briquettes with zero structural defects.

The Step-by-Step Testing Process

Step 1: Precision Moisture & Binder Integration

The process began at our Wheel Muller Mixer station.

  • Controlled Hydration: A technician slowly poured a measured volume of water into the mixer, where the bamboo and lychee wood charcoal powder had already been pre-blended with a natural, food-grade binder.
  • Heavy-Duty Mulling: The heavy rollers continuously crushed and sheared the mixture, ensuring the binder and moisture were evenly distributed down to the microscopic level.

Step 2: The “Hand-Squeeze” Consistency Check

Before feeding the press, a technician performed a quick, practical quality check. Squeezing a handful of the mixed charcoal paste, it formed a solid, cohesive lump that held its shape perfectly without crumbling or releasing excess water—confirming the ideal moisture content (typically 15-20%) for hydraulic compaction.

Step 3: Mold Charging & Hydraulic Compaction

The prepared charcoal paste was transferred into the hopper of the Hydraulic Charcoal Briquette Forming Machine:

  • Even Distribution: The operator evenly distributed and leveled the damp charcoal powder over the multi-cavity hexagonal mold plate.
  • High-Tonnage Compression: The heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder descended, delivering immense vertical force to tightly pack the charcoal particles together, driving out air pockets.
  • Smooth Demolding: The hydraulic ejector pushed the formed hexagonal briquettes cleanly out of the mold with no sticking or surface tearing.

Step 4: Inspection & Safe Packaging

The finished hexagonal hollow charcoal logs were transferred directly to a packaging box. The smooth, clean-cut outer edges allowed them to be tightly stacked in rows, maximizing space efficiency for storage and shipping.

Performance Evaluation & Quality Matrix

Parameter Tested Observed Performance Commercial Value
Surface Finish Pristine, smooth, and semi-glossy, with sharp, well-defined hexagonal edges Instantly communicates premium brand value to high-end BBQ and catering markets.
Structural Integrity Exceptional density; easily handles manual packing and stacking without shedding dust Minimizes product loss and breakage during long-distance shipping.
Drop Strength Bounces and remains structurally sound when subjected to localized stress High drop resistance ensures the product arrives at retail destinations in perfect shape.
Center Chimney Design Uniform hollow core throughout each log Maximizes airflow and guarantees a clean, smoke-free burn with steady heat output.
